Let Us Pray
by Steven Curtis Chapman, “Signs of Life”I hear you say your heart is aching
You’ve got trouble in the making
You ask if I’ll be praying for you please
And in keeping with convention
I’ll say yes with good intentions
To pray later making mention of your needs
But since we have this moment here at heaven’s door
We should start knocking now, what are we waiting for?Let us pray, let us pray, everywhere in every way
Every moment of the day, it is the right time
For the Father above, He is listening with love
And He wants to answer us, so let us praySo when we feel the Spirit moving
Prompting, prodding, and behooving
There is no time to be losing, let us pray
Let the Father hear us saying
What we need to be conveying
Even while this song is playing, let us pray
And just because we say the word, Amen
It doesn’t mean this conversation needs to endLet us pray, let us pray, everywhere in every way
Every moment of the day, it is the right time
Let us pray without end and when we finish start again
Like breathing out and breathing in, let us prayLet us approach the throne of grace with confidence
As our prayers draw us near
To the One who knows our needs
Before we even call His nameLet us pray, let us pray, everywhere in every way
Every moment of the day, it is the right time
For the Father above, He is listening with love
And He wants to answer us, so let us pray
Let us pray everywhere in every way
Every moment of the day, it is the right time
Let us pray without end and when we finish start again
Like breathing out and breathing in, let us prayOur Father which art in Heaven
Hallowed be Thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in Heaven
Let us pray— I Thess. 5:17; Col. 4:2; Eph. 6:18; Heb. 4:16; Rom. 12:12

feeling weird now. 1 of my friend couldn’t make it to Constant Thing and as he couldn’t make it, his girlfriend didn’t turn up as well. W and F, although they did turn up, their only reason there was because i had invited them. after the play was over, i was ashamed that i didn’t have the courage to share more with them. i ended up passing the baton on to ZH. i mean, yea, ZH is more mature spiritually and he is ‘trained’ to share. but somehow, i felt i’ve betrayed my friends. i’ve invited them down but i left them dry.
on the way back, i was just asking God for guidance. was just so lost and aimless. however, i recalled what i wrote about motivation. and i also recalled my youth leaders and my pastors telling us not to worry when we get rejected by others when we share. it is not ‘us’ that they are rejecting but the word of God. yes it is okay to be sad that they have rejected the word of God but we shouldn’t take the rejection personally.
oh wells. i’m still feeling slightly upset though. and when i searched deeper, there was just this emptiness. and as i continued searching deep within myself, i realised that this emptiness only came about when i saw couples on the streets so loving. then, as i asked God why am i alone and where is that special someone, something struck me. weird really. why would i be feeling empty? i mean, if i have God, i shouldn’t be feeling empty. isn’t that the very thing that shouldn’t affect those who know God? i mean, God promised us He will be with us always, till the end of the world. so why am i feeling lonely huh? what testimony is this that i am sharing then, if i still feel lonely. if God’s supposed to be with us till the end of the world, and since i’m a christian, yet i feel lonely, who’s lying? me? or God?
at this thought, i was just so ashamed of myself.
John 7: 37-38 (New International Version)
37) On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.
38) Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.”
I’m satisfied in God. I’m no longer empty ever since I have received Christ into my life. Are you feeling empty today? Do you feel that there’s something lacking? Why wait any more? Call on to Jesus.
I’ve read somewhere, that if Jesus is not real, then what have you got to lose by believing in Him? Yet, what if you find out in the end that He is real?
